Dear Trick or Treat Creator!

Welcome to my letter! I am really excited for this exchange and thrilled to see what you come up with! I'm not very good at writing these letters (or coming up with prompts as you will notice, and I especially tend to ramble so please bear with me) but I'm super excited for anything and everything you come up with, because more fanworks are always awesome!

These details are just here to give you some ideas if you need them, so please feel free to use your own ideas if none of these rambles inspire anything! I just want to see more fanworks for my fave fandoms! ♥

Some things I like in fics:

Humor - I like witty dialogue and banter, particularly if the humor is in the spirit of canon
On that note, the spirit of canon in general!
Adventures! Characters getting into various shenanigans!
Worldbuilding. Stories that explore any kind of aspects of the setting, or fill in holes that canon hinted at but left open to interpretation. Missing scene fics are great and minor characters getting some love (and acknowledgement!) are also great.
Exploring character dynamics and relationships. Family fluff and Friendship (blood-related families or found families) Bonus points for characters with undying loyalties, parent/child, or sibling-like bonds. Extra bonus points for tales of brotherly love. Mega bonus points for stupid brothers that obviously care about each other but fail at ~~life~~ communication.
For Video Game fandoms: Working game mechanics into the story. Characters being aware that they are in a video game type of meta fics. Parodies and Satire are also great! Demolishing the fourth wall is always fun.
Time Travel. There's just a special place in my heart for time travel stories!

Below are some more fandom specific prompts. Please note that I am going off the assumption that you are familiar with the series we matched on, and am pretty liberal about spoilers in these prompts

In pretty much all of my requests I nominated a group of people and my prompts probably lean towards groups instead of individuals. But I am perfectly okay with single character focus/not all members of the group appearing, so please don’t feel limited by that! (Not to mention Exchange rules say you only need to include one of the nominated charas!)

I’m also not really sure how to separate Tricks and Treats. I’m cool with both fluffy and serious stories, mysterious stories and comforting stories. I want all the stories!

Fandom 1: Gintama

I still can’t believe Gintama is actually over. It just doesn’t feel real.

Gintama is a really one-of-a-kind series with its setting (Meiji Japan with ALIENS!) and off the wall humor but still a lot of depth for its characters and their relationships. I love the Odd Jobs Family, and the Shinsengumi, and the Joui 4… while I definitely love some characters more than others it’s hard to think of someone I actually dislike.

I love the Joui 4, but one I think I would love to see is some focus on Takasugi and Katsura’s relationship specifically. They knew each other even longer than they knew Gintoki and I got the impression that they actually maintained some form of contact throughout the years prior to the Benizakura Arc. And while it is largely played for laughs, Katsura does emulate his look in the Be Forever Yorozuya movie. I feel like they probably know things about each other and have a bond that’s different from their bond with Gintoki. I’m not really sure what kind of prompts to put, but maybe something set in their childhood (either before or after Shoyo arrives), looking out for each other during the war, or pre-Benizakura arc. Gintoki is more than welcome to show up as well because the group really isn’t complete without him.

Alternatively, I am also very happy to read with one of the two. Maybe Takasugi with the Kiheitai or Katsura with Elizabeth? All Gintama things welcome!

Fandom 2: Kamen Rider Decade

Decade is one of those where the premise is fantastic, but the execution is just a mess. Fortunately said premise and the characters still made it a fun ride and I absolutely adore this nonsensical mess of a series.

I love the ‘alternate’ versions of the first 9 Riders we saw in the series (aside from Den-O I guess lol). One prompt for this series could be to have Decade visit alternate versions of the next 9 series (since he does have their respective cards by Zi-O). Maybe a W world where 1 guy transforms into two Riders (somehow). Or a Fourze world set in a MegaCorp instead of a High School (reverse AR Faiz).

Or considering we had both Kenzaki & Kendate in Decade, what if the characters go to yet another AR World for a Rider they’ve already met. Maybe another take on Kuuga and how Yusuke reacts to that. Or, considering Zi-O’s finale (what made sense of it at least), what Natsumi becoming Kiva-la means for her world. We never did find out if her world was saved. Maybe while Tsukasa and Kaito are mucking about in Zi-O, Natsumi and Yusuke have their own adventures.

I just want more adventures with this lovable cast.

These are the KR series I’ve seen so far: Agito, Faiz, Blade, Den-O, Decade, Fourze, Build, Zi-O. I don’t really mind spoilers for other shows, but any references to them will probably go over my head.

Fandom 3: Kamen Rider Den-O

Den-O! I…have some mixed feeling on it overall, but I adore the characters so much! The Taros are all so colorful and silly and it gives Den-O a very anime feel. I love the DenLiner family and all the dynamics between the Taros. Momotaros is hotblooded and dumb but cares deeply for his friends. Urataros is a shameless liar and flirt but is also pretty intuitive. Kintaros is steadfast and kind. And Ryuuta is a brat all around but endearingly so.

I just want more Taros adventures. Travelling to the future, past, getting into all sorts of troubles. Maybe meeting some sort of Halloween themed Imagin. Coming back to visit Ryotarou for Halloween. Possession shenanigans. Interactions with Naomi, Hana, and Owner. Some love for Hana in general is always good.

Or maybe someone getting stuck in a time loop because this is a time travel series and there’s always room for time loops!

Fandom 4: Kamen Rider Zi-O

Ah Zi-O… you beautiful beautiful mess of a series… Much like Decade, I feel like Zi-O is a glorious mess of good ideas and terrible execution, but it’s also the first KR show I got into so I can’t help but love it anyway. Woz’s existence helps.

One of Zi-O’s good ideas was the Bad Future…except what was it actually like? What kind of lives did our heroes (and Heure/Ora) live? Was Woz ever really on the resistance’s side? When did Tsukuyomi appear and what was it like for her getting acclimated to this dystopia without any of her memories? Where did the name Tsukuyomi even come from? Did Geiz give it to her? How did Geiz steal the ridewatch from Oma Zi-O? What’s the story there?

Basically, I’d just love to see more of Oma Zi-O’s future. Lots of interesting things there!

Fandom 5: Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth

I love Cyber Sleuth! I love the setting, and I love the game tackles various aspects and implications (and abuses) of a virtual life in Eden in the form of cases you tackle. I love how some of the cases can be absolutely silly (like the Mr. Navit case) and some can actually be pretty creepy and terrifying (like the Mr. Navit case) Anyway, should we match on this, I would love to see more detective agency shenanigans. Aiba taking on some kind of case. Kyoko showing her detective prowess, Coffee abuse…

Or maybe something post game, in the new world. Aiba & the real Kyoko. How do they adjust? How similar is the real Kyoko to the one we spent the entire adventure with? What kind of cases does they tackle now? How is everyone doing in general? What is Aiba's reunion with everyone else like? Any and all characters are welcome to appear, including those from Hacker’s Memory.

Or if Detective Agency stuff isn’t your thing (and not what we matched on), then gimme all the Nokia love! Nokia is easily my favorite character across both games for her silly hamminess & also determination. This girl decides she is going to form a hacking team and that’s what she does! And somehow it all works out! Some prompts for this I guess, could be her spending time with Agumon & Gabumon (or Omnimon), or her recruiting members for her group (like Yasusu), or her group going around and helping Digimon. Or people getting dragged into whatever mess she’s about to create and running the show behind the scenes. If you’re familiar with Hacker’s Memory, maybe something with her and Chitose? A missing scene of them meeting and planning the kidnapping? Chitose mentoring her team? Meeting again post-game? Their interactions in the game were great and I love the friendship they ended up forming. Chitose is probably one of the few hackers who does take her seriously.

Anything with Digimon partners is always great! <3

Fandom 6: Fire Emblem Three Houses

Three Houses is my newest obsession. I went in with fairly low expectations thanks to Fates, but it blew me away with its characters. Sure there’s some anime tropeiness here and there (though a lot less than early reviews led me to believe), but all of the characters have so much depth to them. These are people with histories and motivations and something beyond just joining your party…which for Fire Emblem is actually a big deal!

And as you can tell from my requested characters, I’m Team Blue Lions for Life. I really like the character focus of the Blue Lions route, and the cohesiveness of the house. Most of the characters already knew each other or had some connection prior to them all attending the military academy. I have a huge weakness for childhood friend tropes and the Ingrid/Felix/Sylvain/Dimitri friendship square hit all the right spots. I want to see more of this group.

Maybe some more childhood stuff before the tragedy, with Ingrid being the responsible one dealing with Sylvain’s skirt chasing, or Sylvain teaching the young’uns about girls and then learning that Dimitri gave a dagger to a girl he liked (I would love the full at-the-time reaction haha).

Or post-tragedy when Dimitri starts to drift away from them and how that affects their friendships with both him and each other. We know Felix did not start referring to Dimitri as a boar and distancing himself until two years after that, so it’d be nice to see some of their friendship before it fell apart completely.

Or alternatively gimme all the timeskip goodness! 5 years is a long time, and Felix, Ingrid, and Sylvain all had to grow up in that time as the kingdom fell apart them. Their houses were among the few that were actively resisting the Empire, so it would be nice to see them getting involved in resistance work or preparing to go to the monastery to have their class reunion.

I would just be super happy with any and all Blue Lion childhood friends stuff.

Fandom 6: Trails in the Sky

The Trails series is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I love the world of Zemuria, it’s lore, Falcom’s 5000 NPCs, and its wonderful cast of characters.

And since it’s Halloween, let’s torture one of those characters with ghosts! :D One prompt I have for this fandom matchup is Estelle having to deal with her fear of ghosts. Somehow. Maybe no ghosts have to actually show up and Renne just teases her about it because it’s amusing to her.

Something with Renne adjusting to the Bright family or doing normal little genius girl things with Tita would be really great. I feel like if Renne and Tita teamed up for a project, they’d be unstoppable. How far will they get? How doomed is Liberl? How long before Estelle has to help reign them in!

Tita being her usual adorable plucky self would be loved too. Helping Agate out with things. Sisterly bonding with Estelle! Fine tuning the Orbal Gear. Geeking out over technology (maybe she can react to all the fancy new tech we have by the time of CS2. Orbal Net! Washing machines! Arcus cell phones!)

Any and all girl power content is welcome and loved!

Fandom 8: Persona 2

I’m honestly not really a fan of the Persona series overall, but I love Persona 2 so much! The story, the setting, the premise, the characters...I feel like it has a very mature and subtle approach to its story in a way that's not really found in newer games...

Also I just really love the ‘Rumors turning into Reality’ premise because come on! That is awesome!

I’m selecting the the protagonists individually for this fandom, but I’m honestly cool with anything because everything in Persona 2 is great! (Feel free to think of Tatsuya & Maya as representatives for their respective parties) Some specific prompts though are:
- A rumor coming true that causes trouble for the party (either IS or EP’s) and they have to deal with that. Or alternatively they go on the offensive with rumors to various results. (Maybe Lisa & Eikichi spread a rumor that spirals out of control and they drag Tatsuya (and/or Jun) into helping them clean it up before Maya and Yuki find out.)
- Some general down time for the either party. It’s never clear how much time is passing between events in these two games so at times it feels like the party is dealing with everything at once with no sleep. So I guess just some kind of scenario between plot points where they have some time to unwind and process everything and get to know each other more. That one scene in Innocent Sin in the bomb shelter was really sweet and I wish we had more of them!
- Misadventures of the Masked Circle before everything went to hell!
- Or since this is a Halloween themed exchange and we know that rumors have been active in Sumaru city for years at the time of Innocent Sin, maybe some Halloween related weirdness.

Fandom specific DNW: Tatsuya/Jun focus. I’m fine with it being in the story, but I’d rather that not be the main focus.

Fandom 9: Sailor Moon

Fandom Specific DNW: Senshi/Shitennou. Please no.

Sailor Moon was my childhood! I feel like most of my nostalgia towards it is from the Cloverway dubbed S and SuperS because that was all I was able to find back then. My friend had a couple of VHS tapes (god I’m old) of the first season though so I have a huge soft spot for the Shitennou and the Nephrite/Zoisite/Kunzite murder triangle. Zoisite’s bickering with Nephrite and relationship with Kunzite was always fun and I’ve come to love the Shitennou even more when I rewatched the show a few years back.

Anyway, for this request I want Shitennou shenanigans! The classic Sailor Moon plots of these villains gathering energy by opening up all these different totally not suspicious places is hilarious, and I’d love to see what happens if all four of these clowns tried to work on something at once (Halloween episode?). We didn’t have too many team ups in the show between them, but it’d be nice to see their personalities clash. It’d be nice to see their personalities clash in any setting really, whether it’s them one-upping each other in front of Queen Beryl, searching for the crystal, investigating all these human fads (Jadeite and Kunzite had to get their ideas somewhere), marketing campaigns for said fads, or just Zoisite and Kunzite being sweethearts to each other and assholes to everyone else. I welcome all the Shitennou shenanigans!

I’m extremely biased towards the 90s anime haha, but I’m also a big fan on the Toku Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and the Character Development™ everyone got, even if some of the classic personalities were completely different. If you’re familiar with PGSM, I’m always happy to see more content for that. The Shitennou got a lot of love and personality there beyond just generals of the arc. Maybe some exploration of Silver Millennium PGSM! Shitennou? Maybe they were more like their other anime counterparts once, but that event changed them even before the brainwashing?

I don’t really care for the Manga/Crystal continuity. If that is your preference though, I’d be interested in some Silver Millennium Shitennou, and some exploration of Takeuchi’s character notes for the characters such as Kunzite and Zoisite being like brothers. That was definitely not the case in the 90s anime and they barely had any anything in the manga for it to really be seen there.
